Telling apart Boss Digital Delay pedals

Hey gear hunters,

Sometimes I have trouble looking at an artist's pedalboard and telling which Boss Digital Delay they are using, since there are so many & the knobs all look the same! This photo helped me pick apart the differences:

You can see the DD-5 and DD-7 have the "Digital Delay" text staggered, as opposed to on a single line. Also, they all have slightly different "INPUT" and "OUTPUT" markings, which should help tell them apart.

Hope this helps! :)

GEAR:
  • Fender Telecaster Custom Electric Guitar
  • Big Ear Pedals Woodcutter
  • HeadRush FRFR Go Portable Desktop Amplifier

Necrotising because I need this for future reference.

y'know, the ones that look the most similar are also the ones that sound pretty much the same like the DD2 and DD3 ( some would argue, but back in the day I could not hear a difference between the original boss compact digital echoes or even between those and the Roland SDE rack units everyone had assuming the SDE had the modulation effect disabled)

GEAR:
  • Roland Juno-6
  • Gibson SG Standard
  • Vox AC30 Guitar Combo Amp
