What Is your favorite band?

I know you've probably seen this topic several times, but since I just joined this site, I thought I'd ask. My favorite is Green Day. What's yours?

Tough call. I've had a different band for each stage of my life. Tool, Metallica, Rush, GWAR...

I guess I'd have to say Megadeth. I've never been ashamed of them like some of the others, they've had a strong christian influence since since the early 2000's, and they are worlds more talented than a lot of other musicians.

I just watched an interview with Kerry King where he mentioned that he was intimidated by Dave Mustaine's ability back when he played in Megadeth because he'd be soloing, singing, and looking at the audience and not his fretboard.

White Stripes.

Well, it was Green Day for 7 years and it's now very refreshing to see something new. Well, not so new since they broke up in 2011.

Definitely anything Jack White, but I'd have to say the Stripes are my favorite group of his. As a teenager, it was Blink-182, then I changed to Jack White when I heard the Stripes. I just think they're fantastic.

Only Jack White material I dig are 2 songs from Raconteurs.

My Solution Alabama Drama

I love so many bands, but I'm gonna have to go with KISS as my all time favorite.

Too difficult for me to narrow it down to a single band/artist. Some of my favorites:

Boards of Canada

Aphex Twin

Autechre

Led Zeppelin

Radiohead

The Cure

Alton Ellis

Johnny Cash

Primus

DJ Shadow

QUEEN OF THE STONE AGE

Hard to narrow it down but if I HAD to pick one... Depeche Mode! I feel like their music has had an amazing influence in my life. Martin L. Gore is a f'ing genius :)

EDIT ok, thought about it some more and if I had to pick someone more on the rock side of the spectrum, I'd have to go with Coldplay (I get a lot of flak for that one!)

If I had to go full-on classic electronic, doesn't get any better than Underworld.

In terms of more modern electronic, my pick at the moment would be Mat Zo and Porter Robinson a close second.

GEAR:
  • Fender Telecaster Custom Electric Guitar
  • Big Ear Pedals Woodcutter
  • HeadRush FRFR Go Portable Desktop Amplifier

My favorite band has always been Green Day, they are just such a good rock band. I got more into the heavier side of music with bands like Killswitch Engage topping my list, but I recently discovered The Strokes. After listening to Reptilia for the first time, I'm hooked.

My favorite band is Soundgarden, dat guitar tones...

My favorite band is Coldplay.

The Tame Impala's

I like Spoon, The 1975, Tycho (Live, they are a band it would appear.)

Nickleback, Nirvana, and 311...... bwaaaa haaa haaaa waffles.

Just kidding. I'd have to drink bleach if that were true.

Favourite band huh ? 1. Red Hot Chili Peppers 2. The Beatles 3. Arctic Monkeys 4. Oasis 5. Nirvana 6. Muse 7. Green Day 8. Coldplay 9. One OK Rock 10. The Smashing Pumpkins

  1. Tool
  2. Nightwish
  3. The Offspring
  4. Guns N Roses
  5. Nekrogoblikon
  6. Iced Earth
  7. Jimi Hendrix Experience
  8. Skunk
  9. P.O.D.
  10. ????

Good list!

I like Spoon, The 1975, Tycho (Live, they are a band it would appear.)

Tycho is really great live, both visually and aurally. I've only seen Tycho live when it was just Scott. I think it's just within the past few years that he's made Tycho more of a band than a solo act. Either way, love the music Tycho is making.

My favorite band of all time is the Rolling Stones. But I'm constantly looking for new metal bands and now I'm listening a lot of Vektor and Exmortus (technical thrash metal both) lml
