Favorite Instrumment You've Ever Touched?

I'm kind of ashamed to say that mine is a Squier Jag bass. A close runner up is the Fender Duosonic HS, and in third place is the Squier J. Mascis JM.

If I were to rround out a top 5, I'd put the Ibanez SRX400 in fourth and the Fender American Elite Jazz Bass in 5th, just because I felt like the neck was far too thick.

58 ES335, natural finish, very early, no binding on the neck, huge profile, thin top and back, weak buckers and an amazing tone that was full and yet chimey tied with a friend's ARP 2600 which was set up to make tie fighter noises... yes, the 2600 synth was used n starwars a new hope for tie fighters and R2D2

GEAR:
  • Roland Juno-6
  • Gibson SG Standard
  • Vox AC30 Guitar Combo Amp

that's awesome i had no idea holy crap my life is different

the 2600 is so fun, I wish Korg would reissue it like they did the Odyssey. I love my Odyssey but its fixed architecture, only 2 oscillators and no spring reverb... the tie fighter noise uses a healthy amount of the reverb between the oscillators and the filter if I recall

GEAR:
  • Roland Juno-6
  • Gibson SG Standard
  • Vox AC30 Guitar Combo Amp

dude, Korg should totally reissue it just so i can make tie fighter noises in my apartment

I would say the Fano alt de facto JM6 it was perfect in every way with a buttery neck, fralin p90's and a barebones jazz master look

second is between a 66 mustang in candy apple red, i would of bought it i had 1300 bucks on me but i only had 600 with me, or the 52 avri telecaster i want to try the 64' because thats more what i want spec wise but the 52 was such a good guitar i could understand the 2000 dollar price on it

I think 58 to 64 apart from the 59s with the top loading bridge are really the jam for rosewood teles...

GEAR:
  • Roland Juno-6
  • Gibson SG Standard
  • Vox AC30 Guitar Combo Amp

for sure, my local shop doesn't have the 64 the only one i saw was a 52 but i can't wait to try the 64 i just wish they still made the lake placid blue for it

edit i also want to try the older 62 reissue with the binding before they dropped it for the 64

why not build one to spec in lake placid blue? buy a fender leftover neck from a reissue and have a body done up by king bee or someone similar

i was thinking about doing a warmoth build of a telecaster cabronita if i was gonna build one, its my favorite telecaster model just not a very common one since they were made for telebration a few years ago

My favorite instrument ever is my custom Carvin.

The most well-built instrument I've ever held is my Atelier Z JHJ

The most expensive instrument I've ever touched (exluding pianos and such) was a $3000 Gibson acoustic.

i guess i didn't think to put basses, mia standard jazz and american elite jazz are the two nicest basses, granted ive only played like 5 basses

The most expensive instrument I've ever touched (exluding pianos and such) was a $3000 Gibson acoustic.

ah, I forgot the 30s gibson and martin acoustics I've played as wella s the 20s Selmer Mccafrey (Django gypsy jazz acoustic).... all good, still not a '58 335, but I am an electric guy

I always used to really enjoy my Fender Rhodes Mk1 stage when inhad it.... great electric piano, top 5 isntruments I've played...

oh, my son's piano teacher has a 20s steineway NYC baby that's quite impressive.... probably one of the best years of their 20th century run. Its wasted on me thogh, I am a mediocre piano player, all ideas and no skill.

in the top 10 I'll throw in a 1st year Firebird 1 I played about 5 years ago at a guitar show and a Guyton copy of Brian May's red special, totally solid guitars easily worth honorable mention...

I also played an original 61 "les paul" SG in Maryland when I lived there, maybe top 20, great axe but not so far off from my modern SG, just a better feel and tone by 10%

my dad's $10k giambattista classical guitar ain't no slouch either nor is my uncle's Ramirez

I've played some original d'angelicos that will knock yer socks off if you're good enough to coax the jazz outta them but I am not

interstingly I have played many original les pauls from every year 52 to 60 and they are just okay... great tone but not usually remarkable players

I'd probably have to say a Gibson Les Paul. So classic. It was jet black too. This guitar made me want to go out and get lesson!

no offense, but your user picture is more frightening than a mugshot (and my deceased wife had many mugshots and there's a few of me from the 90s when I was badass so I know) ... something abuot your 'smile' scares me.... its like your happiness stems from putting the bad touch on my inner child!

and there are les pauls and les pauls, be specific

GEAR:
  • Roland Juno-6
  • Gibson SG Standard
  • Vox AC30 Guitar Combo Amp

i definitely agree with both parts of this post. * shuddering *

...okay then. moving on, I really like high end Fenders.

1974 Fender Jazz Bass. Some people say that Fender Basses of this year are pretty bad, but that Jazz Bass was... just wow.

GEAR:
  • Vox Foundation Bass Speaker 1 x 18"
  • Hofner (Höfner) Colorama 164 E2
  • Rickenbacker 4001

...okay then. moving on, I really like high end Fenders.

righty-o then! cheerfully withdrawn

somebody fucking shoot me
