you have terrible luck with equipment... like that spector you modified.... how does one bassist experience so many equipment mishaps?

I always said when I was a kid that if I had a super power, it would be Bad Luck.

Computer people enjoy having me around because I beta test everything by accident and if there is going to be a problem, it will happen to me for sure.

I called Sweetwater and had them tell me what was wrong with the Ricochet Pedal. It seems Digitech pedals require 300ma of power and this pathetic Voodoo Labs I have only puts out 100ma. If I used my Yankee, it would have been fine but now I need to hook up a separate plug for the Pedal. Luckily, I ordered a special AC plug years ago for another Digitech pedal that outputs 1300ma max. It's really put Digitech and Voodoo Labs both on the chopping block for me.

Glad your luck wasn't that bad.

mine's that bad... plenty of gear, widowed at 35... I could go on, but you crybabies would start bawling for me, and that's over the top

Welp, I've had a pair of Audio-Technica ATH-CKX9 headphones for a little under half a year and an ear already blew out. There's some more money wasted.

Fuck... Still hated the way it felt on my ear, so I guess it's a relief to know I won't be using them much anymore. You guys wouldn't happen to know any good earphones for pleasure listening while still keeping sound quality high?

Edit: Some weird shit happening with my computer. Earphones working again. Still getting ear fatigue.

I just had some Westone dual driver inner ear monitors molded, but those make music sound accurate, not great. I've heard a lot of people go on about Beats by Dre. I had some Skull Candys that were okay.

Beats by Dre.

I already sold an arm for a new phone. I'd rather keep my leg, but thank you nevertheless.

Just got my V-Moda Crossfades... phenomenal!

Really impressed with the clarity, bass and response. Sound isolation as an over-ear is excellent. Wireless or wired is a nice bonus.

All said and done, I recommend!

Just read the online description. Looking forward to your full review, though.

Wonder what it'd be like to have some headphones for a change.

Would you guys recommend buying an old Harmony H1215 for 300€ (326$)?

any cracks? how are the frets?

It's up on Ebay. The guy selling it says the frets are good and that it had no cracks. These guitars are pretty rare around here. 300€ is still a lot to me.

Passed by a Guitar Centre today. Tried out a Seymour Duncan 805, a Voodoo Lab Sparkle Drive MOD, a Keeley Katana, and a BB Preamp. Hated the 805. Katana wasn't all it's cracked up to be. Any pushed sound just kinda falls apart. Sparkle Drive was pretty good, but I didn't get as much time to fool around with it. Also, the mods just didn't appeal to my ears.

But the BB Premp. Wow... I spent a good time tweaking around with this pedal and I'm just amazed at how great this thing sounds. The gain is incredibly versatile (from clean or pushed boost to distortion).

I think I might buy one new just to spend some more time with it and return it buy used...

Is that an asshole move? It kinda feels like it all of a sudden.

It's not an asshole move, but it is unwise. You would be better off buying one used online and selling it for maybe a few bucks more than what you bought it for when you're done with it.

Didn't someone erite that as a pet peeve in that old thread?

used BBs are cheap anyway... I think I've had one or two obtained for about 40 bucks on flea bay

Lucky you. It's surprising to me that a pedal with such good tone is going for so cheap. I guess it gets circulated a lot, or people don't like it?

there are tons of them out there.... its been around a long time for a boutique design AND its been a samash/guitarcenter item for some time as well and they expect manufacturers to pour a lot of units into each storefront as well as stocking the online warehouses

keep your eyes peeled, they are worth no more than 60 bucks.... its only a super hot rodded SD1/TS9 type pedal if I recall.. I think the RC and AC boosters are low gain TS9's with dual tone controls and the BB is an SD1 with treb/bass and some voicing ideas from the original Marshall Bluesbreaker pedal. Its been awhile since I had them taken apart though. I really disliked the tone controls on all 3 designs as there's not really a way to get them close to flat as baseline to tweak your drive/boost setting. I expect that from a stock TS9/SD1, but why have the treble and bass if I can't get fairly flat and then adjust from there. The extra tone setting just made these pedals into a standard OD that had an extra control to befuddle me taking twice as long to dial in. But I don't enjoy twiddling with effects. If I want to twiddle knobs I will play a synthesizer. When I play guitar I just want to play the instrument with a minimum of fuss. Some guys prefer to play less guitar and treat their effects as synth modules more or less and play the pedalboard. The Xotics are good for folks ike that who might adjust their tone every song etc
