peavey t 60/t 40

so these two peaveys have always stood out to me as something i need to try, ive thought about getting one online but ive never seen one in person, i know they are heavy but how do they compare to les paul wieght and what would be some buyer bewares on these

its been a long time since I've seen one but I think they're around the 9 pound amrk, like a medium LP standard... maybe 10 lbs at teh outside. I knew someone who ahd one. Built like a tank and played msotly like a fender. itneresting pickups. Ugliest guitar ever,e asily, but in a strangely appealing way. On the otehr hand the T40 kinda reminds me of a gibson ripper, as a abss those cosmetics work for some reason.

GEAR:
  • Roland Juno-6
  • Gibson SG Standard
  • Vox AC30 Guitar Combo Amp

ive love how it looks, its ugly but it pulls it off, and ive heard the neck feels like a skinny fender, but the pick ups to me are really cool since each one is two single coils side by side and not a true humbucker

the one I played ahd a medium neck, kinda early 60s gibson

GEAR:
  • Roland Juno-6
  • Gibson SG Standard
  • Vox AC30 Guitar Combo Amp

We had one as our "old class bass" in high school (we had a vintage white Fender Mexican Jazz Bass we used). I got to take the T-40 home, clean it up, restring it, and set it up. The T-40 is one of my favorite basses.

Neck is on the thin side width wize but has a neck shape similar to a Epiphone Special II in thickness. The pickups in it are considered humbuckers by Peavey, and the tone controls are unique in that they are not the regular treble-cut like most basses, they are coil-splits - gradual coil splits. I loved that bass but it had to go back to school. Have not seen one since.

GEAR:
  • Fender '62 Jaguar Reissue Electric Guitar
  • Hondo Paul Dean II
  • Fender Jaguar
