Quintessential Indie/Alternative Rock Setup

What is your perfect indie/alternative rock setup? What pedals, guitars, and amps would you use to achieve the ultimate indie/alternative sound?

yeah, there's a forum for this.... why don't you delete the one in general?

a guitar... plugged into 3 AC30s or 3 DC30s or a hiwatt 50 and an early orange with the dual kt88s.... or a fender super reverb or, or, or....

or an accordion plugged into a 70s hifi receiver riving a subwoofer but no speakers?

GEAR:
  • Roland Juno-6
  • Gibson SG Standard
  • Vox AC30 Guitar Combo Amp

Guitar, I'd go Fender Tele :) Amp, hmm, maybe a Fender Twin?

Two pedalboards of indie rockers come to mind:

Paul Banks of Interpol:

Justin Lockey of Editors:

GEAR:
  • Fender Telecaster Custom Electric Guitar
  • Big Ear Pedals Woodcutter
  • HeadRush FRFR Go Portable Desktop Amplifier

You know, I really liked what Paul and his lot did with Interpol. It really has a nice, kind of odd stripped but covered feeling of different effects going around, but it's never too overwhelming.

I'm still trying to figure out the alternative genres and such, I'm still quite in the dark about that stuff. But for sure, a Jazzmaster, probably the American Vintage version but like the one Robert Ackroyd has. There's something about shell pink that just looks so lovely.
