Replacing Monster guitar cable

I have a Monster S-100 guitar cable, which is not working anymore. I'm aware of Monster's lifetime warranty. Can I take it into Guitar Center and swap it out for a new one, even without a receipt? Anyone have experience with this?

Unfortunately not anymore. Guitar Center has stopped honoring that association with Monster. You will have to contact Monster Cables directly.

Ok thanks for the info, I'll shoot Monster an email and see what they say. I'll report back.

It's one of the many signs that Guitar Center is declining. Closing stores, not honoring guarantees, and less product. When they have a sale around here, they never seem to order more.

Just an update on this story:

About a week after I contacted Monster, they replied and asked me for my info and what cable it is, as well as what the problem is. They will send me an RMA number, I have to ship it back to them (at my expense) and then I'm hoping they send me a replacement.

Sounds like it's a bit of a slow-going process but so far so good.
