Very nice. What made you go with those pickups? What do the Duncans have that the Blackwaters don't, and vice versa?

The Duncan's are a darker pickup for sure, not only because of their location (neck vs bridge), they're harmonic overtones are quite rich in character throughout the low mids. They still manage to have a breathy and spangly shimmer without that midrange 'quack'. The neo's have a lot of clarity and transparency, but still manage to have some interesting midrange harmonics that can be shaped and molded more easily than other pickups. They are extremely responsive in comparison to the Duncan's, due to their powerful magnets. I was shooting for a darker jazzy type of neck tone that wasn't dull, and that's why I love the 59's so much. Also, its actually a humbucker that fits in a single coil slot, so its noise floor is quite low in comparison to its single coil counterparts. I picked the Neodymiums for the bridge because of the clarity, flexibility, responsiveness, and control it offers. I find those characteristics to be vital for shaping distortion and overdrive tones to suite my rhythm playing needs.
