1996 BCP Strat Copy of unknown model number: Despite the tag(and the neck) it is not actually a Squier Affinity! This thing has a long and rich history as I've had it for nearly 6 years now. It is my very first electric guitar and indeed was my only electric guitar for over 5 years. This thing sucks, and emphasis on sucks. I've replaced the jack twice in the time I've had it, once because the jack was bent to hell and once because it just fell off after a show(jack was hanging because the wood holding the plate in disintegrated) and I never found the plate after. Switch and all three pots also had to be replaced within the first three years of ownership. I've also never found a decent ground spot on this entire guitar. From the picture you can see the bobbin for the neck pickup is completely shattered and can't be held in with screws anymore. What you don't see is that I built the bridge pickup by hand. It's an unpotted mess whose specs I don't even want to know however, it somehow got me exactly the tone I wanted out of it. Rich presence snappy cleans for all of my ska and jazz bullshit and it behaves well for high gain application. If I wind up getting another strat I am for sure pulling the bridge pickup out of this because I don't think I'll ever find another strat pickup I can use like this one or ever replicate it with the knowledge of dynamics I know now(not when I made it). Now the glaring issue at the top of the post, yes it has a Squier Affinity neck. That is because within a week of me moving to college, the truss rod in the original neck snapped. I decided rather than take it to my friend to have it fixed I'd just replace the neck entirely with something that plays better. The old neck in all of it's shitty unplayability can be found on my yt channel. FAQs on this guitar: What the hell? I ask myself the same question daily Are you a psychopath? Yes. No. Potentially. Maybe. I don't know. Why stickers? Because I was in high school, listening to Operation Ivy, and bored out of my mind because it was the first month of COVID. What is the original finish? Green burst. It's actually a really pretty deep green and I may try and find another guitar with that green later on. Why was it your only guitar for so long? Mom wouldn't let me buy another. Until the truss rod snapped and I bought my LP without telling her(I'm a college attending adult now mom). Why the new neck? Because as much as this thing is a piece of shit I love it
