Roland CUBE-10GX 10W 1x8 Guitar Combo Amp
Avg price: $204.71
Great practice amp for metal
I’ve had this for over a year, and although I wouldn’t record with it it’s still a great amp to practice on. My favorite tone is the lead setting, but that is louder than the others so when I need to be quiet I use the crunch setting which is thinner but still sounds ok. The clean tone sounds very good even for a more expensive amp, especially with the chorus on. The amp’s tones are pretty saturated and not very natural sounding (you won’t mistake it for a tube amp) but for what this amp is made for that isn’t a problem. I honestly haven’t had any buyer’s remorse at all with this amp and that’s rare for me.

Nice guitar, but a bit lacking for the price
I got this in December 2018. I mostly play metal and although the pickups are alnico and relatively low output they do a pretty good job when your amp is set right for them. I think the guitar came with a high fret or something because even with the neck relief at the perfect point you can only get a medium action before you get fret buzz. I clean my guitar pretty often and am gentle with it, but within a week or 2 of having it the pickups and bridge were already very tarnished and dirty looking. The whole guitar also scratches very easily, which isn’t that noticeable until you hold it under a light and realize there are literally hundreds of them. It’s a decent guitar, but with the shortcomings it had I would’ve expected it to cost like $250 instead of $420.
