This amp is 2000 watts peak at 4 ohms, 10 lbs. and i purchased it earlier this year for $255.00 new. Not sure what the continuous watts are, but it's got a lot more power compared to a handfull of amps i've played that are rated up to 1000 watts. I leave all the eq flat except for the gain knob, i set that at about 2 oclock. i play it with my passive squier P bass. there's not any noticeable sound shaping this thing does so if you have a good sounding bass this will just make it loud and present. I like the built in compressor, it tightens up the sound especially in the bass range. I put it at about 8 oclock for a small amount of change to the original sound i have when its off. I leave the shape switch off but its handy if you want to cancel a certain mid frequency with a bit of bass and treble bump. The only con i can think of is that it doesn't have a Pre Eq option in the line out/ Di. It hasn't been a problem for me or any soundguy yet though so i don't mind it.
