If you're a Beginner to Intermediate Player, look no further, in fact, the only people I DON'T recommend the Katana to, are the people that can afford, and have the experience to hear the SLIGHT differences between this, and the sound of the Amp(s) it's trying to emulate, and even then, your money could be better spent! Get a Katana, you will not regret it.
My first Fender, I acquired it in a trade. It's a MIM and from what I can tell, pretty ordinary, It Plays, Feels, and Sounds okay, nothing too special to get excited about, but also no major issues that make it a pain to play. It's worth the money if you want a workhorse Strat, the finish is kind of ugly, but I can't fault it for not being my favorite color. If I paid $1,000 I would be upset, if I paid $500 I would consider it a good deal. Expect to want to make a few changes PUPs, Nut, Saddles, ect. It's still a Mexican Fender after all, it's going to need some final touches to be perfect. This will probably become my #1 after some mods.
