Fender 75th Anniversary Stratocaster and American Ultra Luxe Floyd Rose HSS Stratocaster review | Guitar World

guitarworld.com

Fender's 75th Anniversary Stratocaster shines with classic tone and playability at an affordable price, making it a compelling choice for both purists and newcomers. Its stunning design and upgraded pickups offer a delightful experience, though the lack of a hardshell case may disappoint some buyers. Meanwhile, the American Ultra Luxe Floyd Rose HSS stands out as a high-performance model, boasting impressive modern features and quality, albeit at a premium price. Ultimately, both models cater to different needs, ensuring that there’s a Stratocaster for everyone, but be ready to weigh the value against the absence of extras.

Good Guitar for the Money. Great platform for a solid Strat build.

My first Fender, I acquired it in a trade. It's a MIM and from what I can tell, pretty ordinary, It Plays, Feels, and Sounds okay, nothing too special to get excited about, but also no major issues that make it a pain to play. It's worth the money if you want a workhorse Strat, the finish is kind of ugly, but I can't fault it for not being my favorite color. If I paid $1,000 I would be upset, if I paid $500 I would consider it a good deal. Expect to want to make a few changes PUPs, Nut, Saddles, ect. It's still a Mexican Fender after all, it's going to need some final touches to be perfect. This will probably become my #1 after some mods.

Preferred Settings + Usage:

Expect to want new pickups, and some smaller upgrades eventually.
