I use it as an outboard effect on studio recordings and it sounds wonderful
That title says it all, doesn't it?
Great pedal
The picture definately isn't the production model, but a one -off concept model diamond put on their fanpage a while back. The production model has good headroom, lush sound, a decent footprint, and is all around wonderful. I play psych rock and literally never turn it off. It's great for adding that subtle Chet Atkins constant vibrato effect. I just love it's sea-sick sweep.
A little touchy
You need a light touch to dial in the exact volue you want. If all you're looking for is a smaller "ON/OFF" switch, then this is a decent solution. (Maybe invest in a powerless latching kill switch instead...) The option to power it and give input pads toy your signal as well powering other pedals off it it is nice, although i don't use it. Good pedal, has a bit more of a learning curve than you'd expect simply because the sweep is so small it's tough to dial straight into an exact volume setting like on a standard Ernie Ball VP. If you play barefoot I find it's a bit easier to dial in, but if you wear heavy shoes it's pretty hard to be exact with it.
I LOVE THIS COMPRESSOR!
It sound wonderful, it has every option an bit of information I want in a compressor with the LED readouts. The side chain is amazing. Throw a bass through this and hook the side chain up to a subkick on a drummer and your whole band mix becomes outstandingly better. It's a very simple solution to making the kick and bass work together without worrying about a sound guy. It sounds great on everything I've ever thrown at it. I've run guitars, basses, synths, organs, rhodes piano, male and female vocals, even drums in post processing and it all sounds phenomenal. Can't say enough good things about this pedal. It's cliche to say, but it really is rack quality.
Great little pedal
The tracking in good. The sound is clean. The footprint is small. Can't use batteries with it, but I don't do that anyway. solid pedal. The "dirty" button sounds like trash, but that's not why I got it. I use my own OD/fuzz after it and it sound great.
Great guitar
I replaced the neck because the jumbo frets didn't agree with me. The pickups are bright and old school. Like old 50's single coils. It's light and feels good. The shape is nice, and I love the pickup switching options it affords. I did a rewire so I could make the pickups be out of phase on a particular setting Frank Zappa style. Very pleased with this guitar.
Great player
It's a dark sounding guitar. Very jazzy, IMO. It comes with builtin strap-locks which is a nice plus. The shorter scale length makes fingering some more complex chords a bit easier. The nut on the input will unscrew overtime, but then again that happens to any guitar with the input on the butt instead of the face. I just finger tighten it every time I plug in and it's never been an issue. Easy playability, dark sound, nice features. Works well with pedals.
