almost everything except the pickgaurd and the neck have to be done all by yourself. Also be certain to use the right tools, because i used a too small screwdriver, and stripped out a multitude of screws. mine sounds great, and is currently my only axe until further notice, but it's serving me very well. i've seen the wiring on these not work before, so, all in all, it's a lottery, you could get the crappiest guitar ever, or one that fodera could take notes from.
it can actually be pretty loud, with the right settings, but if turned up to 10, experiences really nasty screeching sounds, but, it is great for practicing, and annoying the living daylights out of parents
why woulldn't it be, it's a guitar, but even so, this works great for metal, and theoretically you could mount an frx by floyd rose on it, it has lots of potential.
