One of the reasons I'm so grateful for this board is because I wanted it when it first came out. Are the pianos on par with new stuff, no. I love the synths though. My only gripe is it's a pain to move weighting in over 60 lbs!
I bought this used for under $1,000!!! Currently you can't buy a board for that cheap that comes with aftertouch, can be programmed, and be used as master controller. Keyboards with sounds, aftertouch, and weighted keys start around $2,500 new or $1,500 used. Since I actually play out having a board with sounds is important when others might want to play. All musicians do not play friendly with computers; even if they are configured correctly. Probably will get at a 61 key if the price drops on a used board.
When my 50's broke I checked out these because of the following link. Glad I made the move. My wife loves them and actually tries to use them whenever possible; she likes the fact that they are smaller. As far as sound quality, I don't feel as though I'm missing the 50's.
I've been using my late 2011 for some time. Having used windows for years, and still do as needed, can honestly say it is one of the best Laptops I've ever had! I actually refereed one of friends to buy a used 2012 15" Macbook pro and he loves it! Though I'm currently concerned about what the next major update to the MacBook Pro will be, and as of May 2016 still referring people to the 2012 model, hoping for the best from WWDC this summer or something better this fall.
I got these over 2 years ago mines recently broke from someone sitting on them but they were the best headphones I've ever had. I think they are still the king at their price point.
I love Logic. The first DAW I've spent alot of time learning. I've been using for a few years and still learning. As a keyboard player I'm grateful for the ability to switch sounds between MainStage and Logic. Great for song writing. As the title states, it can't be beat for the price! Hoping Apple starts to invest more time in it, to give it more features.
Great for the price! The headphone amp could be louder. I love the fact that it is made with metal. Doesn't feel cheap. I purchased it over 2 years ago, still works great! $129 or $150 is the regular price as of may 2016. I love my purchase but would probably pick a unit with more in and outs over this product.
