Amazing Bass!

I bought this bass not too long ago and I am impressed with the amount of effort Fender put into making the low B string not a floppy mess! The tension on the B string is comparable to many other E string tensions on other basses, and the amount of tones available with the added active preamp switch is phenomenal!

Versatile and perfect for any genre!

Fender knows how to deliver a well-made bass guitar for the performing or studio musician. The active eq system is great for live performances when you need to optimize your tone on the go, but I usually stick with the passive mode when I'm recording or just playing. The hum is minimized with the noiseless pickups, but is still there; it's just a Fender thing.

Overall, it is an amazing Bass guitar if you can afford the price, if not, I would say anything from Ibanez soundgear would suffice.

Great archtop!

The Kingpin II is a great archtop! The clean tones are amazing and is surprisingly versatile! You can put the guitar under some overdrive or chorus and it sounds great. The playability is awesome too, you can almost shred on it!

Surprisingly Good!

I use this bass in my church band, and it is amazing for the price point. You can get this bass for around $300 used and you get a steal of a product. The active system lets you configure so many different tones. The neck is delightfully playable, and the bass stays in tune! My only complaint is that the pickups can sound muddy at times, but is easily fixable if you roll the 'tone' knob towards 'finger' to add some clarity and to blend in the bridge pickup. Overall, a great bass guitar suitable for intermediates and even pros!

Gets the job done

If you have the budget, buy something better. The zbt's are by no means high quality. However, the cymbals still do get the job done and do not sound bad in a mix.

SUPERB Clean Tones

I use this amp as part of my school's jazz band, and I love it. The clean tones are unmatched and offers some extra features with its distortion, reverb and chorus effects

Great arranger/digital workstation

Has some great sounds and fx! The piano sounds are very rich tonally, and sound amazing in a mix. Strings sound decent, however can be overbearing at times. Has great synth sounds as well! overall a solid workstation!

Awesome for the price

Although not U.S- made, it certainly plays like a wonder. It has such a rich bass, clear treble, and defined mids that you would not be able to tell that the guitar was not made in the US

Decent Guitar

The neck is very playable and easy to navigate. The pickups are decent, and you get great versatility with the HSH configuration. However, personally, the pickups aren't hot enough. They don't have a great output, so often ends up sounding quite weak when putting some gain on the amp. Also, I have had some tuning issues with the floyd rose even with the locking nut. Perhaps the one in my home is an anomaly.

Awesome 5-string!

Has a wide range of tonal options with its active system. When tinkering with the blend, high, and low eq knobs, you can get tones perfect for any genre. The playability is nice as well, although it is a 5-string, the fingerboard is not difficult to navigate whatsoever, and the thumb-shaped grooves on the pickups serve as a great placeholder for your thumb when playing finger-style

Gets the job done

People like to crap on line-6 spider amps, however when used correctly, they can sound great! Although being known as an amp for heavier playing (rock, metal), it offers some great clean tones with some adjustments to eq. The amplifier can be real loud without any breakup if employed correctly. Personally, I mostly play jazz, blues, and funk, and getting a good clean-tone is important to me. I don't have a fender deluxe reverb or roland jc, but I can still get a good clean-tone with the spider iv 15w. It's a great practice amp that can handle small venue gigging as well, but there are definitely better options out there. My settings for the clean tone are- [12 o'clock drive, 9 o'clock bass eq, 9 o'clock mid eq, 1 o'clock treble eq, 12 o'clock channel vol, 12 o'clock master vol; guitar - 2015 Fender American Standard Stratocaster HSS Shawbucker]

Great versatility and playability!

Awesome guitar. I use this guitar for everything ranging from practice, to recording sessions, to gigs. The fat 50s neck and middle pickup offer a different kind of tone when compared to the normal chimey and bell-like tone that is associated to stratocasters, but i love them. The richer low-end and mids make this guitar very usable for jazz! Being a jazz guitarist, I was pleasantly surprised with how well the guitar handled itself with the genre of music. The fat 50s pickups sound really warm with the tone rolled down to 3-4, almost emulating a clean p90. The humbucker is really where the guitar shines though. The humbucker offers greater 'oomph' and attack compared to a single coil when playing rock/metal. The bridge humbucker sounds awesome with some distortion for some heavy rhythm guitar, and is spectacular when playing lead lines. Overall, this guitar offers the playability and familiarity of a stratocaster with an added amount of versatility with its different pickup configuration as compared to normal SSS configured strats.
