John Coltrane

John Coltrane used the Otto Link Tone Master *5 Tenor Mouthpiece, often pairing it with Rico #4 or Chiron Vibrator #4 reeds, as noted by J.J. Babbitt.

Trane used this instrument to 1960.

In the photo, John Coltrane is seen with a Neumann U47 microphone, highlighting its use in his recording sessions.

Producer Steve Hoffman has stated his use of the LA-2A for Coltrance.
