Love it!
Some might say that on the acoustic side, Ovations tend to have a bit of a brittle, "plastic-y" sound, and that the round back can be problematic, and I'll definitely concede that point. But when I plug this baby in and get my on-board EQ settings dialed in, I can get all the warmth and low end I need, as well as the bright sparkling tone that is a natural characteristic of these guitars - and look good doing it! The Standard Elite has the carved "wood-leaf" inlays around the multiple sound holes, which make it look like a work of art, as much as a finely made instrument. I have the mid-depth bowl, which brings the guitar in a little closer to my body, and is the perfect balance between the full bowl and the shallow one. This one is definitely a winner!

Nothing like a Strat
What else can I say? All you Strat players know and love that classic sound. Lightweight and fits like a glove. It's my "never fail, go to" guitar when the weight of the Gibson has me feeling my age - lol! Of course there are certain songs where only the Strat sound will do - it just has that "thang", you know?

Classic in every way
This guitar has been my workhorse for 30 years and it shows it. It has the weight and feel of a solid handcrafted instrument and the tone is so satisfying - the Seymour Duncan mini-humbucker pickups give me the warmth and guts when I need it and brightness and cut when I want that. This is a classic and it just so happens it was made on my birthday! (August 14) So obviously, it was made just for me. I can't imagine ever being without it.
