Love it!
Some might say that on the acoustic side, Ovations tend to have a bit of a brittle, "plastic-y" sound, and that the round back can be problematic, and I'll definitely concede that point. But when I plug this baby in and get my on-board EQ settings dialed in, I can get all the warmth and low end I need, as well as the bright sparkling tone that is a natural characteristic of these guitars - and look good doing it! The Standard Elite has the carved "wood-leaf" inlays around the multiple sound holes, which make it look like a work of art, as much as a finely made instrument. I have the mid-depth bowl, which brings the guitar in a little closer to my body, and is the perfect balance between the full bowl and the shallow one. This one is definitely a winner!
Artist usage
Add artist
In this picture, Julian Casablancas can be seen playing what seems to be a Ovation 2778AX-6P electroacoustic guitar in a white color. This guitar is discernable from others Ovation models due to it’s white color, combined with two mahogany pickguards, and the back of the guitar, in a distinguishable black color contrasting with the front.
