All the boutique FFs with boss type barrel adapters sound funky and 'off' running off of wall voltage, though they may sound alright if you have a voodoo lab pedal power with the low voltage outputs to simulate a real 9 volt... the tone we know from vintage fuzz is all about the carbon zinc style batteries of the 60s that were lucky to put out 7.5 volts when brand new, Hendrix, Cream? Their few effects were probably only getting 6 or 7 volts each when they recorded those classic tones. Starving the old circuits is part of the soft vintage sound. I always used to go out of my way to get the cheapest dollar store batteries that are still carbon zinc instead of high quality alkaline to keep my vintage and boutique fuzz collection sounding correct.... then I got tired of fuzz and started selling them off, but I digress. Anyway, hit a dollar store and look for those cheap Panasonic carbon zinc 9volts to squeeze the sixties tone from this attractive FF pedal you've got, I always prefer them that way, but YMMV.

its a TS9 with a blend control, if you are blending all of the OD out its basically acting as a clean IC-based boost with a mid hump... there are lots of better ways to achieve that, but whatever floats your boat
