Virtually unknown pedal that can make a huge difference in your sound.
I bought this pedal without really knowing what it would be useful for. Nowadays I use it all the time in my board. Basically it enhances the sound of all your pedals, mostly on the high/mid frequencies, giving you a very beautiful sound, specially if you are using a Stratocaster. I love using it with my chorus pedals and also with my compressor. It gives you an amazing clear and transparent sound, very close to the one Mark Knoplfer had in the early days of Dire Straits and also that trebly sound that Steve Rothery of Marillion has, which I love. If you find one, you should buy it immediately. Five stars!
Good small amp with a beautiful chorus effect
It is a really good small amp for practice, rehearsals and small gigs. It has a really beautiful chorus effect. I use it mostlly for acoustic guitar, since the distortion available doesn´t really sound nice. It can be used for electric guitar as well, specially if you play jazz, blues and folk music. Very high quality.
Excellent Hiwatt cabinet
Amazing sound can be obtained from this excellent cabinet. The speakers are incredible, with a very fat, round and bassy sound. It sounds wonderful with any guitar or effect. I use it as my main guitar cabinet and am totally satisfied with it. Very resistant, beautiful and durable. A winner!
Simply the best guitar I have ever played!
I saw this guitar in a shop while I was trying out a compressor pedal. In the end, I didn´t buy the pedal but got this amazing guitar instead. It plays so well and is incredibly smooth. The sounds produced are amazing. It is beautiful with its clean sound but also with any overdrive of distortion. It has two hambucker pickups, a volume and a tone button. The tone button has a push/pull function which can alternate the pickups for hambucker and single coil formats, allowing for a wide range of sounds. It is very light and easy to play. You can play it for hours standing up without feeling tired. This is the favorite of all my guitars. Simply gorgeous to look at and incredibly comfortable to play.
Excellent and affordable looper
I really wanted to get the EHX 720 Stereo Looper. However, it was quite expensive. I found this pedal which does exactly the same and it costs a fraction of the other one. The quality and sound are really good. It is very easy to use and can be very helpful in any pedalboard. Highly recommended.
Great Valve Overdrive pedal with really crunchy sounds.
This pedal has a real valve inside it. You can see it working while the pedal is turned on. There is also a on/off button in the front part of it so that you can turn it on and leave the valve warming up before using the pedal, just like a valve amp. The sounds are great. You can get everything from mild and crunchy drive to really strong and aggressive overdrive tones. I really recommend this little pedal.
Very aggressive pedal, a clone of Pro Co Rat
Small but great pedal. A clone of the famous Pro Co Rat. Very good for heavy metal bands and hard rock players. Incredibly loud with loads of sustain. It is really going to shake down the walls when you use it. It fits in any pedalboard and is very easy to use. I recommend it.
Nice pedal made in Brazil
Nice little pedal made in Brazil that will fit into any pedalboard. Good quality, but not amazing in terms of sound and playability.
Very good buffer made in Brazil by Murdoch Effects
A really effective and functional buffer made in Brazil by Murdoch Effects. It really helps your guitar signal get stronger, especially if you have a lot of effects. I use it in one of my boards and it has greatly improved the sound quality overall. Inspired by the JHS Little Black Buffer.
Great boutique pedal Made in Brazil inspired by the Boss FA-1
This boutique pedal Made in Brazil, by Murdoch Effects, is a clone of the long discontinued Boss FA-1 FET Amplifier. However, I feel this one is even better than the original, with high quality design, sound and features. You can use it as a preamp or booster to improve your guitar sound. It can be used both on acoustic and electric guitars. I particularly like to use it with large pedal boards, in order to improve the signal throughout the chain. Highly recommended.
Surprisingly aggressive pedal - Inspired by the Peavey 5150 amplifier
This small unit by AMT is inspired by the famous 5150 Peavey Amplifier, designed by Eddie Van Halen. I feel it is a great effect, with a very loud and aggressive sound, suitable for heavy metal and hard rock players. High quality design and manufacture.
Amazing Head Amplifier
This Hiwatt Head is simply amazing. It sounds great in any setting. It is very powerful even at lower volumes. It can give you a clean and also a very distorted sound. At high levels, it also gives you a lot o feedback. I felt a bit like Hendrix and Jeff Beck while playing it. Do yourself a favor and check it out!
A tiny yet huge sounding fuzz pedal
I like this pedal because it is very cheap, small, fits easily into any pedalboard and, first of all, sounds great. It is smooth, not so aggressive. However, if you add a compressor or a delay pedal, you will surely be able to get beautiful sounds out of it. I recommend it for those that enjoy a lighter and smoother kind of fuzz. Check it out!
Very noise pedal
I don´t know if my unit was defective or not, since I bought it second hand. However, I decided not to keep it because it was very noisy , especially when I put it on the 1 and 2 positions. It was impossible for me to use with my board. Since then, I replaced it with a TC Electronic Spark Booster, which is the best booster available, in my oppinion.
Takes away all your mid and highs.
I really didn´t like this pedal. Whenever I activated it all the mids and highs simply disappeared. It is silente but changes the sound of the guitar in a terrible way. The TC ELectronic Spark Mini Booster is much better than this, because it doesn´t change your sound, just gives you more volume. I definitely do not recommed this JHS pedal.
A surprisingly cheap but great sounding acoustic guitar
I got this guitar as present from my father. He bought it in London in 1987. I just loved its beautiful colors and sound. It sounds great both plugged and unplugged. When playing it unplugged, it sound huge, specially if you use good quality steel strings on it. When you plug it, it sound good, but a little trebly. That can be compensated with an EQ or with some special settings in your amp. Very easy to play and fun to take with you on a trip or to play along with your friends. This guy has been a good friend of mine for decades!
Incredibly small but filled with great sounds
This pedal is really small, saving a lot of space in your pedalboard. However, the sounds produced are great. It offers some great analog sounding delays, very warm and beautiful. It is very easy to find the right sounds you are looking for. I bought it after watching a video at ProGuitar.com, where Andy Martins plays a lot of old U2 stuff with this unit. It sounded amazing, by the way. Go get it!
