Amazing
I use one of these on occasion. However It's been modified for a passive VVT setup, Stock yamaha BB434m pickups from my main bass, La Bella Gold/White tapes, foam mute.

Amazing for the price.
I have a heavily modified BB434m that I use extenisvely for all my bass work. Dimarzio Will Power Neck and Middle, Yamaha attitude style wiring, dual output. An absolute beast

Not just your normal distortion pedal!!
This thing is an absolute beast which is what i'd expect with it having one hell of a beast of a bass players name on it. From Subtle overdrive tones to rip your face off distortion tones the EBS Billy Sheehan Deluxe Drive is something to behold. With a basic setup of Drive, Tone, Level and Clean, you can shape your tone to however you see fit. The clean knob (arguably the most important thing on this pedal) allows you to blend your wet and dry signals to still retain low-end while having the distortion kicked on. There is an on-board compression which is really usable with a trim pot inside to set the threshold of the compression. There are 3 positions for the compression and that is Off, Mid and High. Off is pretty self explanatory, Mid adds a medium sized amount of compression (which I feel to be the perfect sweet spot when playing live) and High adds a lot of compression for when you really need it. There is also a phase switch which allows you to set it from normal to inversion which is really ideal for live shows as the normal position really gives you that Billy Sheehan "Pissed Off Mid-range" tone to coin a term from Legend Jon Willis. There is also a boost function which boosts the drive for even more gain! with a trim pot inside to set the level of the boost. What sets this aside from other drive pedals is that it has a swap-able op-amp which allows you to really have your own signature tone. This can be powered by a 9v battery or a 9V DC power supply.

Greatest Strings on Earth!!
The only strings I use now! These are the absolute dogs bollocks when it comes to strings. As Billy himself says these strings have a roughness to them that your fingers just grip onto and they haven't failed me one bit. Thank you Rotosound and Billy Sheehan.

Its an amazing bass (ive modded mine to my own specs)
Had this bass for about 3 years now and its my absolute workhorse, Mines modded with an Aguilar OBP-1 pre-amp which provides bass and treble boost only (use accordingly, you wouldn't want to blow your hair off!), It has a fender bad-ass style bridge, A Hip-shot D-Tuner and Seymour Duncan Apollo jazz bass pickups, Not to mention its strung up with only the greatest strings on earth! They happen to be the Rotosound Billy Sheehan Swing bass 66 string set 43-110. Its currently in the classic sunburst colour but I'm on my way to getting it refinished in custom colour shell pink, so it has that 60's vibe. If you're looking for a bass that you can use forever and not even have to mod it (But obviously in this case, I did) this is the bass for you!
