All You Need
The Ozone 8 Suite is the best all-in-one kit for mixing and mastering your song. Provides incredible modularity and simplicity when taking care of frequency balancing, stereo imaging, leveling, and more. Provides a great set of presets that show you what each genre aims for in their various mixing and mastering styles. Quite literally the Midas Touch of music.

Most useful for creativity
Timeless 2 provides so much more than you would think a delay plugin could. It creates entirely new sounds in whatever direction you desire - with a wide variety of presets to choose from. Highly recommend for those looking to experiment with their music and get into the more "out there" genres.
Version: FabFilter Timeless 2158
Highly recommend for those starting out
I've used FL Studio since the beginning of my producing career and it has not once failed me. All of the things I need done are easily accomplished with the vast array of plugins made by Image Line for the Producers Edition, and while many professionals use Ableton, I've found that each time I have to pick I stick with FL Studio, because unlike Ableton, Image Line allows you to do everything you need without having to navigate a labyrinth of tabs, folders, etc. Highly recommend it for beginning producers.

Best Controller on the Market
The S4 has the tactility of a CDJ but the ease of an everyday controller, having the build quality of a $2000 setup but at a quarter of the price. I've used it for several years and it has never failed me. The software works great as well but you may need to downgrade to earlier versions if you are using apple lossless files or using songs from the iTunes store because it cannot read ALAC or M4A files.
