My #1
I have a early 2002 Prototype Highway one in Honey Blonde with Rosewood and it is the best guitar I have ever played, great wood and construction. Eventually I will replace the tuners but they are still solid and I play this guitar everyday. Pickups are almost identical to the '65 vintage set in sound and response. Highly recommend getting one of these and the satin nitro lacquer finish is way better than the new poly they use, wears in like an old baseball glove and just feel like home!

Best Strat for the $$$
I have the 2002 Honey Blonde with Rosewood fretboard and it is so smooth and the vintage voiced pickups are like butter. LOVE THIS GUITAR, best American strat I have played yet, put classic gear tuners on it and kept everything else stock. They are out there for good prices and well worth the buy, the finish being Nitro lacquer gives it such a cool vibe and feel.

Slamming Axe
A little setup and it goes a long way. Killer looks and feel! Great prices on the used market too.

New USA Version lower quality
I recently bought a new Floyd original and it is the made is USA model for 6 string, the steel is of a lower quality and the machining is not clean. The post or rivet going through the saddles is not smooth and the string blocks are brittle, the best part is Floyd Rose changed the design of the string insert block so now you have to hunt for the right one while you can't play it... NOT IMPRESSED AFTER SPENDING $300 WHEN THE GOTOH IS 1/3 OF THE PRICE AND BETTER QUALITY AND STEEL!!! Atleast it still stays in tune like the original, they should change the name of it though or add "Not So" before the name, just saying!

Perfect balance
With the thicker low end than the standard 42 they give a better tone for distortion.

Great Mod Setup
I put an Original Floyd Rose and swapped the bridge to an EMG 81TW, added Dunlop strap locks, and Graph Tech ratio locking tuners. I replaced all the wiring with an EMG solderless kit and run 1 volume with an EMG-PA2 preamp, and love it. This setup beats my $3K USA Jackson and my USA Charvel!!!
P.S. I have the Seafoam Green one!
A note on the new Floyd Rose bridges made in the USA, they are NOT on par with the German ones! Definitely a downgrade in quality, and it seems a different steel.

Amazing guitar, stainless frets and great electronics on top of a grade A body/neck.
Guitar is great, seriously GREAT! I have been through a handful in the price range, and nothing by the other big name brands comes close to this in what it offers in build and hardware. I had no issues with the Floyd Rose special, but I swapped it after a couple of months to an original Floyd. Between the stainless steel frets that were perfect out of the box and these EMG's that in my opinion, are a mix between the 81/85 and a PAF set, have this crazy fat and smooth neck sound, and the bridge under heavy gain just sings. Highly recommend this and the seafoam green one(I got that)has this cool vibe that just resonates "sleeper" because once you plug it in, you don't expect it to rip the way it does.

Put an OFR on this thing, and you will easily have something comparable to a high end USA by "other" brands at 1/3 of the price.

I love this unit and completely replaced my board with it, I get everything I need and it mesh's well no matter where I play.

Well Done!
Just got the black cherry version and it is impeccable, I have gone through this guitar with a fine tooth comb and found no flaws. Set up was decent out of the box and other than me setting it for preference, it needed nothing. I am not a fan of the Ernie Ball Slinky's it came with but I have always preferred GHS Boomers and that is just my preference as there is nothing wrong with EB Slinky's. I strongly recommend this guitar and am now a lifelong Schecter fan as it came better than the $2800 Jackson I bought last year, better fretwork and binding than a guitar that was 3X the price... Schecter wins!!!
