Sound signature is great. Balanced, with a mild bass boost. There's now a Bluetooth version available, and if it had Active Noise Cancellation of Sony 1000XM3 i'd buy the new version right now.
A complete package. No other gear required. Make awesome 8-bit tunes. Take it everywhere. A lovable tiny synth. Comes in my favorite color.
I don't like their sound signature, i only use them for work in open space office. Can't wear them on my neck because i trigger voice assistant with my cheek and the phone starts calling random contacts. You'd think Sony of all brands could make a decent pair with 3rd attempt, but nope.
Had 3
It ended up collecting dust until i sold it to artist H A : Z E who performs live with it now. Check out his "Passage" album
Died after one set of batteries, and the shop didn't have another Robot to replace it with. I will probably buy another one later
As a beginner, i much prefer Teenage Pocket Operator synths because they include basic drum machine to make a complete song with just one device, and Volcas are pack animals.
There's also an issue with sync signal generator - it never stops. If you use Volca as a clock provider for your setup, you can't restart the whole device chain to be in sync like with, again, Teenage POs
