Gene Vincent
Gene Vincent's Gear
In this late 1950's picture Gene Vincent plays the classic orange Gretsch 6120 Chet Atkins model with Dynasonics.
Here, as well as in many other photos from 1956, Gene plays this blonde Gibson. Appears on his 2nd album (Gene Vincent and the Blue Caps, 1957) front cover, too.
Gene Vincent plays his red mid-1950s Gretsch Rancher in this picture from 1958. The same guitar appeared in the movie "The Girl Can't Help It" (1956), played by Paul Peek. Also seen on the album cover of "Gene Vincent Rocks And The Blue Caps Roll" (Capitol T-970).
The other instruments in the picture are Gretsch 6120 (Johnny Meeks, right) and Fender Bass (Bobby Jones, left).
In this picture from his Australian 1959 tour, Gene is performing with a 50s Gretsch White Falcon.
Gene Vincent pictured with his acoustic Framus guitar in the late 1960's. He had the guitar until his death in 1971. The same guitar appears first time on the cover of his 1964 album "Shakin' Up A Storm", as well as on the "Best Of" collection in 1967.
