Sam Halliday's Guitars
Two Door Cinema Club lead guitarist Sam Halliday created this JT-60 guitar with Farida. He says "...it looked amazing... it sort of does everything. I have it on the neck pickup for live, when I'm recording it [the pickup switch] sort of drifts to the middle... It's got body, but it also cuts through. With two guitars - Alex plays semi-hollow body, a bit more mellow, fuller-body sound - so I need something that cuts through on top of that."
In this video at 3:35 Sam can be seen using a Squier Supersonic in blue. Sam also mentions this guitar at 4:00 in this video.
In the official music video for Two Door Cinema Club's "Undercover Martyn", Sam Halliday can be seen playing a Farida CT-60 electric guitar (with custom Bigsby).
Two Door Cinema Club's Sam Halliday can be seen playing a Gibson ES-330 electric guitar. His particular model does not have a pickguard, and has a Bigsby installed. Several of his tweets reveal this is a vintage model from 1964.
Sam Halliday can be seen with his Nash S-67 w/ reverse headstock in this video. He has used it in nearly every live performance since the summer of 2016.
In the live performance of "Eat That Up, It's Good For You" by Two Door Cinema Club in New York on September 15, 2011, Sam Halliday can be seen playing a 1976 Gibson ES-335. Although it's noted that Alex Trimble is also using an ES-330 with a Bigsby, this suggests Sam either owns this ES-335 or has access to it through Alex.
Sam uses this guitar during a live session on Facebook where the band plays new songs from their new album "Gameshow" a day after its release.
Sam tweets - "Tapping out after half an hour of too much fun. The blisters are setting in. Blaming this blast from the 80s." - with a picture of the Fender Lead.
