I have been here for a few years but I haven't visited the forum yet. My name is Matthew Carr and I am a sound artist, educator, and musician. I am 31 years old and I live in Saskatchewan, Canada. I have been drumming for 26 years, and I have played guitars for about 21 years. I got into synthesis when my family got a powerful enough computer in the mid 90s. I've experimented with tape since I was a child, and I enjoyed using any type of instrument under the sun that I could get my hands on through the years. There were organs, synths, drums, percussion pieces, mandolins, guitars, and pedals around the house growing up, but it was a revolving door as my family was quite poor and gear came and went like crazy as we moved around alot. I began recording at home in highschool with a rented Boss BR1600CD. It was around this time I also began collected synthesizers, the first being the common microKorg. I tend to record things live, or sequence with a DAW or an mpc1000.

I've played in many bands throughout the years, usually on drums, bass, or guitar. And I sing.
