I purchased this with hopes of using it to trigger my sampler. This should work, in theory, but it appears as though my pads are broken.

Synthesizers 10

This thing lost a star because it's a pain to program! But I love the "acoustic" sampled sounds. The synth is fun to incorporate, but its nothing spectacular. Only square/saw waves unless you get really deep into programming. It MUST have OS Ver.1.13 update from 1991(?).
It's fun to put it on a track, or to start creating something with it! From clicking for days and squinting at the tiny screen, to choosing a preset and just going, to using SysEx, I love this thing. And it still works! Couples nicely with an analog monosynth. Easier to program than the roland d110 and others I have.
I've never committed to teaching myself how to program this thing. There are some nice presets from the previous owner, however, and I have not yet been able to replicate them with other hardware gear, so this thing is a keeper. I find it to be very digital sounding (surprise!), and that's what I love it for. I'm sure there's much more fun to be had if I give it some time.

Keyboards 1

This thing is hilariously fun. Plug in midi and play some on-board songs while cycling through the arrangement buttons, playing fill and intro over and over, back to back, turning off and on the "instrument" groups. A wonderful way to spice up a track. If you ever find a cheesy yamaha keyboard with midi, pick it up!
