Audio Kino

One of the great, unsung Vibrato sounds of its time… the TONE control, INTENSITY toggle, and DETUNE feature here take it to the next level.

The Sultan of Shoegaze (and Sproing)

Digitech’s X-Series… were we ever so young?

The Hardwire RV-7 gets shoegaze-taxed pretty hard these days, BUT, bang for your buck? I actually prefer the Digiverb’s more lo-fi, digital-grit aesthetic countenance…. I see it as a feature, not a bug. There’s nothing else quite like this. The super pristine ring of a Strymon Big Sky, Meris Mercury 7, or Source Audio Ventris the Digiverb is most certainly NOT. But it’s gnarly stuff! Solid state or tube, this thing just does not care.

And, yeah, let’s address the dancing elephant in the room: the infamous volume drop once you start dialling in the ‘Reverse’ reverb past 12 o’clock… but that’s just the nature of the beast with a blend/level knob that kills your dry signal the more your dime it. Eh. Stick a compressor or boost in front, tweak the EQ to taste, and enter a new, exaggerated, swooshy, spaced-out nether region of your own device. In stereo!

The ‘Gated’ reverb here…. it’s deeper than you might think… in fact, I’d go so far as to say this is my favourite ‘Gated’ reverb sound in pedal form ever. Simply irreplaceable in my rig. The decay knob — mega sensitive, but it’s got that extra gear, get it justttt right and there’s a second and even third act to this thing (for ears that are willing to hear…) Unlike the RV-7’s half-wet fixed mix, we’re talking full on “I Need No Trust” – My Bloody Valentine vibes.

100% Wet ‘Church’ reverb before your favourite dirt pedal? Best of breed.
