The Upgrade We Needed
The number of upgrades to Ableton from version 9 make going back to 9 for collaborations a bit of a pain. The groups within groups, new effects and synths make Ableton 10 a must upgrade for any producer still using 9 or lower.

My Favorite Version of FL
Even though 12 and 20 have released since my purchase of 11 (and Image-Line has a fantastic free upgrade program) I find myself loving the interface and workflow with 11, 12 and 20 are primarily used for collaborations.

My absolute favorite distortion plugin since the simple Camel Crusher and Sausage Fattener. This is a plugin that distorts without making an ugly useless sound. I find it useful simply for warming up a sound as well, but I primarily use it for its unique distortions.

Versatility at it's Best
Serum is easily the most popular new soft synth to come out during the 2010s, and for a reason. The number of sounds possible with this synth seems to be infinite. While many get trapped in a cycle of reusing sounds, an explorer can find the most unique combination of settings and waveforms to create sounds like no other.

A Legend
I got Massive early in my production years, shortly after realizing that Sylenth1 was not going to satisfy all my production desires. Massive is a popular, easy to learn, difficult to master soft synth with tons of tutorials and presets available. While my production style has started to lean away from electronic sounds, I still find myself using Massive in most of my projects, as it can sneak its way into many different styles.

My First Guitar Love
I received this guitar as a gift from my mother around 14 or 15. It sat unused as a prop in my bedroom, as at the time, I had no experience with a guitar and was heavily engrossed in my EDM production, with no intentions to bring physical instruments into my production. Around 16, I picked this guitar up just to play around, teaching myself the instrument through covers and learning to read guitar tabs. While this is a starter guitar, I find that paired with Native Instruments' Guitar Rig, I can get some fantastic sounds out of it. It's small form factor makes it an ideal starter and jump into a love of guitar playing.

Solid First Mic
I purchased this mic on a whim shortly after returning home from my short stint at university. While I was away, I had written tons of hooks and lines, but had no way to record them other than my phone and I was itching to have a way to record in higher quality, just to have something to play with within my DAWs. While a couple of months of experimentation led to my realization that the mic didn't have the range for my singing, it is a solid mic for voiceovers, podcasting, and some instruments. I plan on upgrading my audio interface so I'll be able to use this and my Blue Spark in tandem, recording to have higher control over my mix and experiment stereosonically.

My Favorite Mic (So Far)
I purchased this mic after a couple months with my AT2020, realizing my vocal range was too wide for it to fully capture. Tons of research later and a memory of my high school choir director owning the big brother Bluebird for our training, I settled on this mic. The differences are significant, especially when mixing complex harmonies, pushing my vocal cords to their limits, and recording acoustic instruments. After an interface upgrade, I plan on using the two mics in tandem, having much more control over the final product,

Great Basic/First Interface
This was my first interface. I was initially attracted to this because of that big monitor knob, something I wish more interfaces in this price range would integrate. At the time, this was perfect for my setup based almost entirely around my PC, the interface was really just for the sound quality increase and to solve latency I had from the built-in soundcard. As I expanded out of my software-based production, the 1/4 inch and XLR inputs became useful.
