A Monster!
Bought this amp new in 1974 and gigged it heavily on the road for 3 years. Then, part time until 1991. Never had any problems with it. Performed great. Sound wise, with the six tens, it produces a beautifully "round" sound with brilliant highs and thundering lows (if you want them). Since it stands over waist high, there's no need to elevate it. I still own it. Only one problem: it's extremely top heavy. The amp is equipped with a set of four removable snap-in casters on the right side and two flush mount handles on the left side. It is obviously designed to be rolled on its side from from place to place, unless you have a road case. I ultimately discovered that when getting it in and out of the truck or on and off the stage, it's always best to lift the top (amp) end first. It's amazing how many folks try to load the bottom end first!
Preferred Settings + Usage:
I always play through the second channel with the channel volume set to 10 and the Master volume to whatever the room requires, with the knob pulled out to give me the distortion I need when I open up the volume knobs on my guitar. Treble is set to 10, Mid and Bass to 5. Guitar: 1972 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe.
