Morley 20/20s - This series desperately needs improvement

I tried the Morley 20/20 Bad Horsie twice. Not going to try the Mini e.g. 20/20 Series any more.

Sooooooooo noisy and always trouble with engaging disengaging, meh!

Tonewise it is good but the old (classic) Version does better. I really like the size of it but the small Morleys are full of design flaws, I wonder why you still do not find more critical/honest reviews regarding those issues?

This is a Design Flaw, not an Individual Case. I‘m from Germany, our biggest Online-Seller is called Thomann... The B-Stocks of Morley Minis are present every day - Hope they will get‘em out of their shop.

I still play my big and heavy and classy Morley Bad Horsie I - A reliable and true Work-Horse that delivers and performs great for 15 years now.

Nope!

Sooooooooo noisy! It’s tone is really nice. BUT it is causing that much noise when you put your fingers on the boost-knob, you‘re not going to stand it.

Which is a pity but NOT a bad coincidence but a design flaw.

The Classic WH10 Reloaded - V3 Rules!

Hallo 👋🏻

I bought the new WH10V3 Wah and here is my impression: It's a really good wah, it does sound pretty cool but sound is something up to your personal taste, I feel this wah will not be your last wah ever - it is not an allrounder.

Yes, I like John Frusciantes Sound but I am not a Frusciante Fan-Boy and this review is not about how to sound like him using this particular wah.

I guess I am a Classic-Rock-Dude, sometimes Funk, some days Metal, so here I go:

Pros: Great, rich Sound, wide sweep, different to CryBabys or Morleys Rugged Enclosure (like V2) and great size (fits Pedaltrain Metros) True -Bypass / Buffered Bypass Switch - Pairs good with most fuzzes - I do like its BIG FAT 80ies-Switch (You'll need lil space besides a wah and the pedal next to it, right?!)

Integrated Booster!:

Of course it has a Volume Boost, if you use its Boost-Option! Explained in the V3s' manual, by using the Depth-Control-knob, you do control its Booster from -6 dB up to +12dB. So you can decrease (minus) or increase (plus) the Boost (volume and gain) and this is the key to its Sound: The WH10 is able to boost (a lot!) and therefor distort your signal to produce this dirty Wah-Tone made famous by John F.; If your signal is already somewhat distorted (crunchy, overdriven, gainy) you won't get any increase in volume, just more gain but no volume-boost. I assume that Wahs like the Xotic XW-1 or the Dimebag Wah from Hell are able to produce similar sounds due to their integrated Boost-Functions? Similar, huh?

The WH10 (in general) urgently needs a distorted or compressed signal? I don`t think so, it behaves like all Wahs different to incoming signals and it sounds good (but not great) as well on clean signals; Up to your taste... mine is a crunchy signal too but I am not fixed to one tone or solution.... Anyway, the Frusciante-Maniac of course does need more gain because more loud is more good. Pedals are the flavors in your kitchen - hope you like to cook like I do.

If you dial back the depth-knob you play less boosted and cleaner for e.g. Funk, Pop whatever - this is an affordable GOOD/GREAT WAH.

Cons: Pretty stiff and hard to engage/disengaged out of the box. Sounds good/great with distorted signals, sound okay/good with cleaner signal Tow down sounds great Heel down sounds just okay (my taste) Construction-wise if have seen better designs

Solution for its stiff engaging/disengaging: In front, underneath the rocker is a small rubber-bar with four "rubber-teeth". I used a cutter to cut off the two inner "teeth" et voilá - it does engage smooth and easy now.
