Free
For a free guitar, with the purchase of a car, it was a fun guitar. I kind of wish I hadn't sold it when I moved since it was such a neat novelty item. The preamp, built into the guitar, was an interesting feature that I was always scared to really use. Sound wise it was quite decent for a bonus giveaway item.

Not quite
I had wanted a portable rig and had tried the ZT lunchbox. I had high hopes it could do as promised and keep up with a loud drummer and another guitar but I found myself lost in the mix and was disappointed. Sound wise it was fine, unless you pushed it hard with a lot of distortion. I even got the ext cab for it to help and it didn't really work for what I wanted. My band was simply too loud. Could be my fault for expecting something so small to provide a miracle.

solid state, ugh... you need like quadruple the watts and hella efficient speakers to cut the mix like a tube amp.... I actually quite like the Roland JC120, but you need all 120 watts to hang with an AC30

and the JC120 is still huge and heavy, might as well have an AC30 or a Pro Reverb.

Silver Sparkle
I had the Silver Sparkle 25.5 neck version. It was an okay guitar but certainly not my favorite (hence why I eventually sold it). It looks neat, in a gaudy sort of way, but the feel was rather cheap compared to other guitars. Sound quality was alright but wasn't going to blow you away.

one of my friends had an original Korean one of these in the 90s, I think it was an early short scale version though.

The first ones were made in Japan, part of the Vista series, and are quite valuable in the 2nd hand market. They used left over Jaguar/Jazzmaster parts and are basically Fender of Japan rebadged Squier. Sort of weird there has never been a Fender Jagmaster when you think about it. Not that Fender names even matter anymore since they've decided basically to just use the same 5 names over and over.

Bad guitar pedal
This was my first pedal I bought way back when I first was learning guitar. Even then I knew it was kind of junky. Although, years later, I'd mess with it on a bass guitar and discovered it was a lot better being a bass distortion pedal than a guitar distortion pedal.

To the ebst of my knowledge its circuit is the op-amp big muff of Siamese Dream fame.... just witch vastly inferior componentry (not that an 80s muff is anything to write home about in that dept) and a baxandall/james type tone network (treble and bass, flat in the middle, stock muff tone knob @5 sound available with the treble and bass up for those scooped mid tones heard on early mudhoney, pumpkins, etc)
like an actual big muff I feel like its a better bass effect stock, and then its still cheesey.... if you go into it and look at the board you will find 2 pairs of clipping diodes. If you clip the 1st pair (marked D1 and D2) you will get less compression, more output and a more interesting sustain (in my opinion). You will also hear more of the opamp stages clipping eachother than just squared off diode clipping making it sound more fuzzy in a 60s sense of the word. The old Supa Tonebender used this topology only with discreet tranistors like most big muffs and in my opinion sounds VASTLY superior to the big muff.

Portable
It's wonderfully portable and very small. But that is about all it is. It's a great back up, given it's size, but I wouldn't use it as a main amp.

I own a 1978
Oh CBS you have such a bad reputation. This guitar is absolutely basic. No body contour, hard tail, single pick up, and 24 scale. But it absolutely rocks. Made in the USA at the old Fullerton plant when it's in your hands it just feels sturdy. The single coil in the neck gives a really nice tone that works very well with distortion.Generally I don't like Black guitars but this one is the rare exception. It almost as an evil looking quality to it.

Sadly the best pick I've ever used
When I first started playing guitar I an issue with pick slippage. A friend recommended these, due to the grip, and I never had an issue again. My only complaint is the bland colors but every time I've tried other picks, that have cuter colors, I never feel the comfort I feel when I use my trusty Dunlop Nylon .88 picks.

I love it
These type of Amps aren't for everyone. But if you love to experiment and tinker it's wonderful to just sit and create your own custom sound. With 100 presets you have a lot of room to be creative. I have certain settings for certain guitars for example. Getting the Fender 4 button switch really helps you control the amp and is a must in my opinion.
The Fender amp models are better the others and the only ones I use. I am a particular fan of the Bassman and Twin. It's light, which is nice for weaklings like me, and affordable for what it offers. Also loud enough for smaller gigs without any sort of micing required.

no, they are not for us oldster.... too many knobs... can I just get an ac30 with volume for each channel, maser high cut and tone controls for the brilliant channel? I want to play not tinker or I will play keys....

Rocking
An Orange Toronado was my dream guitar for so long, it's so beautiful. It really stands out in a crowd. The atomic humbuckers are hot and create a powerful rock sound paired with distortion. The unusual 24.75 shortscale neck (for Fender) makes it stand out in the Fender line up along with it's unique hard tail bridge. The guitar isn't the most versatile in the Fender line up but it's very good at what it was designed to do. Unfortunately the guitar wasn't very popular and didn't last very long. But they are very fun to play and very unique. It always gets comments when I am playing it.

unusual for fender, 24 * 2/4" is Gibson norm... I always tell myself I am going to score a toronado or cyclone but chicken out.... the guitar collection is so big already. try replacing the shit fender buckers though.

I had two Cyclones I had to sell in the past year. :( I love the 24.75 neck Fender guitars. The Squier Musicmaster of the Vista series also has that scale neck.

I've been scoping for a 90s Toronado or Cyclone. I remember really wanting one the year they were released. Then they disappeared and I forgot about them for 15 years or so. I am too snobby to own a post 80s squire though I am sure they are okay guitars. Next time you are selling a Toronado or Cyclone elt me know. I am particularly interested in the original issue ones for cyclones, with the humbucker. Toronado is whatever, they are all basically the same.

Perfection
Kurt certainly knew how to customized a guitar. The JB in the bridge really pushes this guitar.The Mustang pickup in the bridge is wonderful for clean sounds, the Tune o Matic bridge is an improvement and the lowered switches is just icing on the cake. It's not a complicated mod from the usual Mustang but the little improvements make this my dream Mustang. The neck is wonderful.

A great product
A wonderful collection of effects built in with the ability to add more effects with Zoom's iOS webstore. Sadly Zoom has stopped releasing new effects but there are a ton to buy. The AMP sims are a bit meh but where the pedal really shines is it's massive collection of delays.

Great if you mod
Stock this guitar really isn't that good. It's why a lot of people, that kept their Jag-Stangs over the years, have modded them. The most simple mod that most people do is getting rid of the awful Fender Santa Ana humbucker. The neck, however, is an absolute dream and the best neck I've ever experienced on a guitar.
My personal mods. Purple Dimarzio Super Distortion, coil split on the volume pot, silver strat style knobs, flipped tailpiece and locked it down, lowered switches. It's one of the more known Jag-stangs out there due to the unique purple humbucker.

96 I believe? It has the 50th anniversary sticker on the head stock so it's one of the first runs and not reissue from the early 2000s.

my best friend has owned a number of these from different production runs and they are all over the map in terms of quality. For some reason I want to think that the 1st one he got in the late 90s had a stock super distortion or maybe a Duncan JB for the humbucker, so yours may not be 1st run. Not that it matters.

Fender just can't make a Gibson style humbucker in-house, they always screw it up. Not that Gibson's always on point, but even their bottom-of-the-line 490 pickups are okay compared to most of what Fender does. Have you heard any of the new Fender Bill Lawrence humbuckers? I grew up with the Gibson pickups Lawrence designed in the 80s and was never knocked out by them, but they weren't bad. I'll still take the 70s T-Tops or some of the current designs over the 80s stuff though.... still, maybe Lawrence can help Fender out.
