Features and functionality

    Source
  • SuperSonic (Burn) model offers enhanced saturation with a second gain knob accessible via the software interface.

    Source
  • The Mustang III's stock 2-button footswitch can toggle effects like overdrive and delay, mimicking a pedalboard setup for versatile live performance.

    Source
  • Preset #74 "Juicy Clean" is highlighted as a favorite for its tonal quality among the 100 available presets.

    Source
  • Mustang's DAW plug-in allows further sound tweaking, adding a layer of flexibility not available in all modeling amps.

    Source

Setup and maintenance

  • Reducing treble to 2 or 3 with bass and mids halfway can produce unconventional but potentially improved tones.

    Source

Comparisons

  • Users prefer the Mustang III V.2 over the newer GT models and some favor it even over more expensive amps for its versatility.

    Source
  • The Mustang III V.2 is often compared to tube amps like the '68 Twin Reverb, with users favoring the latter for studio recording due to superior tone.

    Source

Use cases and applications

  • Ideal for home use at lower volumes, outperforming other modeling amps like Marshall Code 50 in versatility and sound.

    Source
  • The amp's variety of sounds makes it suitable for home practice and small to medium live venues, though some question its studio authenticity.

    Source
  • While the amp performs well live, it is generally not preferred for studio recordings, where traditional tube amps are favored.

    Source

Software and compatibility

  • Users appreciate the Fuse software for adding compression, noise reduction, and effects; essential for tailoring sound, especially for single-coil pickups.

    Source

User experience

  • Loudness is a standout feature, with users noting that even at low settings, the amp is powerful enough for home use without disturbing neighbors.

    Source
  • Users emphasize bypassing factory presets, describing them as suboptimal, and suggest adjusting bias and sag settings for improved tone.

    Source

Mods and upgrades

  • Adjusting cab models, bias, and noise gate settings, along with adding compression and light reverb, enhances the Mustang III's tube-like sound approximation.

I love it

These type of Amps aren't for everyone. But if you love to experiment and tinker it's wonderful to just sit and create your own custom sound. With 100 presets you have a lot of room to be creative. I have certain settings for certain guitars for example. Getting the Fender 4 button switch really helps you control the amp and is a must in my opinion.

The Fender amp models are better the others and the only ones I use. I am a particular fan of the Bassman and Twin. It's light, which is nice for weaklings like me, and affordable for what it offers. Also loud enough for smaller gigs without any sort of micing required.

jimmarchi1

no, they are not for us oldster.... too many knobs... can I just get an ac30 with volume for each channel, maser high cut and tone controls for the brilliant channel? I want to play not tinker or I will play keys....

jimmarchi1

I started an Eb collab, get back with us.... its a freakin' testosterone fest right now, but the song's not about that...

The best one to get started into FX and amps

It's not the best sounding amp out there and it's quite fizzy, but it's cheap and it's a good way to get into the world of guitar FX and experimenting with different amps (Marshall style, Fender style, etc.). Nevertheless, it's pretty solid and I wouldn't mind gigging it (it's super loud, actually).

First amp I ever owned

I bought this back in about 2014 when I first started learning guitar. It's perfect for a beginner - has a built in tuner, good variety of amp models and pedals, isn't huge and has lower volume for the bedroom. It can be loud if you want to play at receptions and parties. You might want a louder amp for outdoor settings or clubs. But I had no issues with playing loud enough actually, just depends on your personal preference. I use it mostly to play cleans. I don't own a Vox but I've used one and it has a better clean tone imo. This Fender does the job though.

Excellent amp!

Very huge upgrade from an old Peavey that I had. It has all the sounds that you expect, and with the added PC program Fender Fuse the possibilities are endless! I use it for home use and recording and the max volume that I use is 3. I recommend it to the practical guitarist that wants a lot of sounds, even if they aren't exactly like tube amps or pedals (personally I enjoy every preset).

This amp is good for beginner bands.

For anything but practicing this amp is sub par. For a beginner who wants to experiment with pedals without spending too much this will do, but it always sounds like a copy and doesn't produce anything unique to even itself.

alex_cavani

Honest amp to study and play at small gigs.

Nothing more, nothing less, this is an honest amp with some beautiful digital sounds. I actually like to use it paired with my VOX AC30 in stereo through my Boss CE-1.

The Perfect Upgrade

Exceptional amplifier, got it as a Christmas present and it was a knock out. Hundreds of downloadable presets that can give tones for anyone, from Kirk Hammet to Slash.

Presets, and more presets

Basically the amp that every Nirvana fan owns and uses. I like it but i have to admit it SUCKS with pedals. If you dont mind not using your pedals, the presets are fine.

albin_nilsson

It works great!

There are a lot of premade sounds and you even could download more presets from fenders website. The amp works great with a very high sound. Its easy to control the sounds or download presets that diffrent bands use from their website.

luis_enrique_perez_tasso

It is an achievement of technology, in a good small pack!

It is a modeling amp, I know, but the sound it's really good! It's really touch-sensitive, and it has a lot of amps to emule and a lot of effects. Also it has a FX looper for moe things to do! I love all of this amp, included the fuse software to changes things better.
