decent basic stratocaster

although they are starting to get collectors items these Korean made mid-90's are not a must-have. If you do happen to have one or find one very cheap; keep 'm!!! they are very reliable and decent guitars to start with. chances are big you'll need to rewire the hardware, but if you do so you can enjoy them for a long time. They play far more better than most starter strats from other brands.

very reliable and versatile bass

5 string, active J-bass style. excellent for hard rock and metal style, but can handle any other style as well. String through body, witch gives it a nice, warm sound. great sustain. Grover tuners with the hammerhead system are very solid, just as anything else on the bass. This thing is indestructible. It can easilly compete with basses witch cost twice as much. "Made in Korea" are best value for money, "Made in USA" are negligible better, but a lot more expensive, "made in Indonesia" are a lot cheaper, but not the same quality as the American or Korean. in short: a bass that would be a great addition to any collection, regardless the style(s) you play.
