I make noisy and poppy hip-hop beats mixed with hypnotic synthesizer melodies, strange vocal clips/manipulations, and sometimes my own poetry/raps.

I sometimes use bongos to supplement my computer beats, they add movement to an otherwise sterile digital beat. Whether I have them buried in the beat or up-front, this instrument just has something to it
I use audacity to isolate drum hits from vinyl loops and record. I also like to use the raw data from non-audio sources and place snippets of the interesting results into my compositions.
Even though the build feels a bit cheap, the controls offered by this thing are good for the price. It has velocity, 8 drum pads, 8 contol knobs, and 9 fader knobs
I use FL studio for beat-making. For this purpose, this DAW is extremely useful; there's a reason why is holds popularity among hip-hop producers! The built-in effects and synths are pretty decent and can help get you started. The piano roll is THE reason to get Fl-studio, it has an extremely clean design and can be easily used.
This synthesizer is extremely fun to use. It has the same beautiful analog sound of the original along with all of the other features musicians loved. The filters are a stand-out on this machine, they sound beautiful and completely characterize the robust MS-20 sound. The modular section adds another level of fun, although it can seem complicated to some.
