A partscaster featuring a 50's Esquire neck and Telecaster body "The Mutt" was Bruce's primary guitar on countless classic recordings. Originally purchased from Luthier Phil Petillo for $185, after being owned by a record company. A hallmark of this guitar is how it was routed for 4 pickups, giving it an exceptionally light weight.

Bruce used an EP-3 Echoplex unit during the Born to Run, Darkness tours and No Nukes concert. In the attached image from the No Nukes concert, you can see the Echoplex to the left of his Tweed amplifiers.
An EP-3 Echoplex would also be used during the recording of Nebraska, being applied as an effect to the original cassette tape.

In an interview by Dave Marsh from February 1981, highlighting the the E Street Band's equipment, Bruce's use of "four pre-CBS Fender Bassman amps, ca. 1958-1962," is confirmed, indicating that one such amp, a Fender 'Narrow Panel Tweed' Bassman 5F6, is utilized onstage under the drum riser.
