This is actually a real Klon, but it's rehoused. Actually, our pal Josh from JHS was nice enough to help out and kind of had a lead on good enclosures and they kind of helped us silk screen it with like our our color on it and stuff. Yeah, man, he's great. He's such an enthusiastic, like exciting, passionate, like wealth of knowledge and always up for cool fun stuff. So that's nice. This is really new though, it hasn't been part of the equation for like a long long time. So that's fun to have around.

Extended Range Guitars

Chip Ellis Ugly Stick

In this Instagram post, Jack White discusses and shows several photos of his "Ugly Stick", a custom creation by Chris Ellis. He says:

This over the top custom built axe is the invention of Mr. Chip Ellis who has built my Triplecasters and EVH's over the years. Chip has been working on this for 30 plus years on and off; It's called the "Ugly Stick" and is half bass, half guitar.

I have it tuned to open E on the low and open A on the high strings. But you could do what you want with it. The bass strings are recessed lower than the guitar strings so you can play them all at the same height/same time. I used a prototype of this axe on 2 songs on the NO NAME album (Number one with a bullet and Terminal arch enemy endling) and haven't been able to really perform them live yet, but now I can. Thank you so much Chip, this thing is out of this world I'm either wishing I had this back in the White Stripes or I am glad I didn't!!!"
