John Martyn is one of the early artists to use the Echoplex as a fundamental part of his sound, and unusually, he used it extensively with acoustic guitar. He combined echo with fuzz, wah, and a phase shifter, creating unique sonic landscapes driven by rhythm. Martyn used EP-1 and EP-2 tube Echoplexes at different times during his career.
