ESP 901

This was an auction for Richard's main guitar in the early days of Rammstein, the 901. This was used to record Herzeleid, and possibly Sehnsucht. It was used extensively until 1997, when he began using an ESP KH-2 for drop D tunings and the 901 for standard tunings, and then replaced by a 2nd KH-2. He then "revived" the guitar in the early 2000s by adding a white pickguard and installing EMG pickups, using it for songs that required alternate tunings like Mein Herz Brennt.

Richard also has a 2nd 901 that was used extensively during the 1997 leg of the Sehnsuct tour and in the music video for the song Engel.
