New to Equipboard? Dazed? Confused? Start here. 😎
Making a bass sound like a guitar is not something I've had experience with, but isn't that what Mike Kerr from Royal Blood is doing? There must be some interviews with him and how he gets his sound.

Perhaps TLM 147 is a typo and one or two other people (even experienced producers) have also used the wrong model number from time to time. If there is another *147 microphone made by Neumann, it should be seen on the Neumann site or on an old Neumann catalog or something.
The "TLM" would imply that the microphone is a transformerless design, so we might not expect it to look like a M-147 which is a tube based (valve based if you are British) design. Also the frequency response might be different, so it might not sound the same either. Do you think that the "TLM 147" you are referring to, looks and sounds like a M-147 tube microphone?
In the reverb link you provided, the microphone appears to have a black label, indicating a tube based microphone. Most (perhaps all) Neumann TLM microphones appear to have the red label.

The "add gear" thread does seem to be a bit out of control, but I'm pretty sure it's not as simple as it seems. For some instruments, every minor variation seems to get a new request, for example a different colour is listed/requested as a new instrument in many cases.
There are also duplicates where the same equipment is listed twice, e.g. "Akai Professional MPD24 USB MIDI Pad Controller" and "Akai MPD 24" are referring to the same thing and both are listed here. Letting people just add anything they want would probably result in more duplicates.
There needs to be some sort of redirect entry that reserves the different names and redirects to the original, or "preferred" entry, to help prevent these duplicates.
Perhaps there is also a problem where some of the site income (perhaps a significant percentage?) comes from those links to reverb and sweetwater, so they don't want to let people add links to the site of the equipment manufacturer and other non-revenue earning sources if there is a "better" link.

Jai Paul - Help With ID'ing The Gear In His Studio
There 's some info in this reddit thread, although a lot of it is also about A.K. Paul and the Paul Institute. For example the one studio picture appears to be NAO working with A.K. Paul, which is also in this photo on twitter.
Jai Paul also has a website https://jai-paul.com although I don't know if you'll find much there.

Note: This product appears to have been superseded by the RME Advanced Remote Control USB (ARC USB), which appears to be on equipboard.com with a slightly different name.
Edit: as mentioned above, the RME ARC USB Remote is on equipboard.com and listed with type, MIDI Controller, but the older RME Advanced Remote Control (ARC) also needs to be on equipboard.com and this one is not MIDI.
