About

Adema is an American rock band known for their dynamic fusion of alternative rock, nu metal, and industrial metal, emerging from Bakersfield, California, in 1998. The group's early lineup featured Mark Chavez (vocals), Mike Ransom (guitar), Tim Fluckey (guitar), Dave DeRoo (bass), and Kris Kohls (drums). Over the years, Adema has navigated changes in their lineup, including the significant addition of Ryan Shuck (vocals, guitar), known for his work with Orgy and Julien-K. Despite these shifts, the band has consistently delivered a powerful and energetic sound, marked by heavy guitar riffs, electronic elements, and emotionally charged lyrics.

How to Sound Like Adema

Adema's sonic character is robust and aggressive, characterized by crunchy, distortion-laden guitar riffs and thick, industrial textures that create a dense, driving sound. Their music often combines the raw energy of nu metal with electronic influences, resulting in a soundscape that is both gritty and atmospheric. The use of Marshall JCM2000 Dual Super Lead amps and Boss FZ-2 Hyper Fuzz pedals contributes to their heavy and textured tone, while the Ibanez Tone-Lok LF7 Lo-Fi Filter pedal adds a unique electronic edge to their sound. Adema's music thrives on its intense, rhythmic drive and layered electronic effects, which together forge a compelling and resonant listening experience.
