How to Sound Like Alestorm

Alestorm’s sound is characterized by its bombastic and playful energy, combining the aggressive riffs typical of power metal with melodic, folk-inspired interludes. The band’s music features a mix of catchy, anthemic choruses and intricate guitar work, often supported by the use of synthesizers to add a layer of epic grandeur. Máté Bodor’s use of the Ibanez LACS Bobo Model and Fractal Audio Systems AX8 Amp Modeler/Multi-FX Processor allows for a versatile range of tones, from crisp, high-speed solos to heavy, chugging rhythms. The inclusion of keytar and synthesizer elements by Christopher Bowes, such as the Roland AX-Synth Shoulder Synthesizer, enhances the band’s theatrical flair, creating a sound that is both powerful and whimsically adventurous.
