Bloods & Crips was an innovative collaboration between rival Los Angeles gangs, the Bloods and the Crips, showcasing their combined musical talents in the genres of West Coast hip hop, G-funk, and gangster rap. Formed under the guidance of producer Ron "Ronnie Ron" Phillips and rapper Tweedy Bird Loc, the group brought together actual gang members and local rappers like Red-Rum-781, Sin Loc, Blue Ragg, Red Rag, Bloody Mary, and Lil' Stretch. This unique assembly of artists emerged in the early '90s with their debut album Bangin on Wax, which became an underground sensation, followed by The Saga Continues in 1994.
