About

Brighton Rock is a Canadian glam metal band hailing from Niagara Falls, Ontario, known for their energetic and melodic blend of glam rock, arena rock, and AOR (album-oriented rock). The band was formed in the early 1980s and features Gerald McGhee (vocals), Greg Fraser (guitar), Stevie "Skreebs" Skrebiec (bass), Martin Victor and Johnny Rogers (keyboards), and Mark Cavarzan (drums). Occasionally, guitarist Greg Bioleau joined them for tours. They gained recognition with their debut EP Young, Wild and Free and continued to make waves with albums like Take a Deep Breath and Love Machine, even as they faced challenges with their label and management.

How to Sound Like Brighton Rock

Brighton Rock's sound is characterized by its high-energy, melodic guitar riffs and powerful vocal delivery, embodying the quintessential glam metal vibe. Their music often features rich harmonic layers and anthemic choruses, achieved through the use of overdriven guitar tones and soaring vocal harmonies. To capture their sound, focus on crunchy, yet clear guitar tones typically associated with high-gain tube amplifiers. The use of chorus and delay effects can help to emulate the lush, expansive soundscapes they create. The rhythm section drives the music with tight, punchy bass lines and dynamic drumming, which are essential for maintaining the energetic, arena-ready feel that defines Brighton Rock's music.
