About

Burden Brothers is a rock band formed in the early 2000s, emerging from the ashes of the major-label grunge wars. The group was started by Vaden Todd Lewis of Toadies fame, handling vocals and guitar, alongside Taz Bentley, formerly of Izzy Stradlin's band, on drums. Over time, the band expanded to include members like Zach Blair (guitar) and Casey Orr (bass), further solidifying their presence in the alternative rock and post-grunge scenes. Known for their raw and energetic sound, Burden Brothers combined the gritty allure of grunge with the melodic sensibilities of alternative rock, creating a distinctive sonic footprint.

How to Sound Like Burden Brothers

The Burden Brothers' sound is characterized by a gritty, hard-hitting rock vibe with a nod to the post-grunge era. Their music leans toward an aggressive and direct style, driven by powerful guitar riffs and dynamic drumming. Vaden Todd Lewis's use of the Marshall JCM800 2205 50-Watt Amplifier Head contributes to the band's crunchy and robust guitar tones, while Zach Blair's preference for the Gibson Les Paul Standard adds a classic rock warmth to their sound. The rhythmic backbone provided by Taz Bentley's drumming and Casey Orr's bass lines ensures a compelling blend of melody and intensity, reminiscent of the raw energy that defined the grunge movement. This combination of gear and musical approach helps Burden Brothers deliver a sound that is both nostalgic and refreshingly potent.
