About
Camper Van Beethoven is an innovative American rock band known for their eclectic blend of musical styles, including alternative rock, jangle pop, and post-punk. Originating from Riverside and Redlands, California, in the early 1980s, the band was spearheaded by David Lowery (vocals, guitar) and Victor Krummenacher (bass). The lineup eventually expanded to include Chris Pedersen (drums), Chris Molla (guitar), Greg Lisher (guitar), and Jonathan Segel (violins, keyboards, mandolin). Their music is characterized by a playful and surrealist approach, merging elements of punk, folk, ska, and world music, which was notably showcased in their debut album, Telephone Free Landslide Victory.
