About

fIREHOSE is an influential American alternative rock band that emerged in 1985, following the tragic end of the iconic group, the Minutemen. The band was formed by bassist Mike Watt and drummer George Hurley, who were joined by guitarist and vocalist Ed Crawford. Originating from San Pedro, California, fIREHOSE is known for their blend of alternative rock, post-hardcore, and punk influences, creating music that combines technical prowess with heartfelt expression. The band's name was inspired by a line from Bob Dylan's "Subterranean Homesick Blues," and they carved out a niche with their raw yet thoughtful approach to songwriting.
